Complete with animation and the ability to start, pause and resume, this course offers great preparation for an on-water certification course; and is a great refresher for experienced sailors too. Normally a $39 value, the Online Learn to Sail Course is now available for free for a limited time. To receive a special course code to access free enrollment, please complete Offshore Sailing School’s newsletter request form on the company’s website here. Please type in the Question textbox on the form, “request Online Learn to Sail Course code.”

Company
President/CEO Doris Colgate said, “we have been teaching sailing for more than
56 years. While we are following State and Federal guidelines now and working
remotely from home, we’re pleased we can offer this online education to anyone
who requests it.” The company will respond to each request via email, providing
a code for complimentary enrollment. View details about the Online Learn to
Sail Course on the company’s website here.
Students will be able to download a Certificate of Completion after
successfully completing the online course.

Offshore Sailing School, based in South Fort Myers, has taught more than 150,000 adults and families how to sail and powerboat safely and competently for the past 56 years. The company teaches every level of US Sailing certification at six resort locations, four on Florida’s Gulf Coast and two in the British Virgin Islands.

Offshore Sailing School was founded by Olympic and America’s Cup sailor Steve Colgate in 1964. Steve was inducted into the National Sailing Hall of Fame in 2015. Steve and his wife Doris Colgate have written many books on sailing and are considered the preeminent authorities on sailing education. The Colgates are writing their memoires to be published in 2021.

While working remotely, the Colgates are producing a video series from their home. Called #DocksideChatswithSteve, these stories provide a little sailing-oriented entertainment for those who may also be staying home during the COVID-19 crisis.

The series began on March 30 and new episodes premiere every Monday, Wednesday and Friday on the company’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/offshoresailingschool. These stories will also be shared on Offshore Sailing School’s Instagram, www.instagram.com/colgate_offshore_sailingschool, twitter, www.twitter.com/Sailing_School, and YouTube Channel.

The company’s YouTube Channel, www.YouTube.com/offshoresailing contains many educational and instructional videos on learning to sail, race and bareboat charter, along with video recaps of special events and tours of the company’s resort locations.
