Tiki boat fun for the entire family
By Mandy Michelle Carter
I absolutely love sunsets in Southwest Florida. I recently took the kids on a sunset cruise on a floating tiki bar … yes, it was as cool as it sounds.
Big Tiki Tours is Southwest Florida’s largest floating tiki barge and it’s right here in Cape Coral. No need to fly to an island, they will bring an island experience right to you.
When you think of a tiki boat cruise, you probably visualize a party boat full of adults and loud music. Which Big Tiki Tours definitely offers. But what you may not think of is that you can turn the tour into a unique and memorable family experience.

They offer two Cape Coral locations to hop on. We left from the dock at The Westin because not only do I love this marina but we wanted to enjoy dinner at Pinchers afterwards. Plus, if you get there early enough, you can soak up the atmosphere and grab a drink at the Westin bar (Nauti Mermaid).

Parking at this location is simple and free. Once we walked to the back of The Westin, we immediately saw the Tiki Barge and the kids took off running with excitement. We got on the barge and left immediately on a smooth, 90-minute ride as the sun set around us. It’s more spacious than I imagined and easy to walk on. We brought snacks and juice for the kids while us mommas enjoyed a bottle of wine. Our captain played music, pointed out wildlife and even joked with the kids. It was a great combination of outdoor family fun and relaxing time.
