Broadway Song & Dance Class

The Broadway dance class at Cultural Park is designed to take all the technical elements of dance and refine them for the stage. Musicality, expression, storytelling and physical ability are all combined to create a class that truly encompasses what it’s like to dance in Broadway style shows. Whether you’re just interested in dancing in the chorus, or need to sharpen your audition skills to nail the lead, this class is perfect for you.  Ages 10 through young adult. Starts Jan. 10 and runs Mondays for 10 weeks ($75).

Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium

Join Calusa for their spring semester of Homeschool-ology classes! Each month will focus on a different “ology” study topic like Zoology, Entomology, Orintology, and more! Classes will include a classroom lesson, outside exploration, a variety of hands-on activities or experiments, and may include a live animal encounter. Classes are for ages 5 – 8 from 10 am – noon, and ages 9 – 12 from 1 – 3 pm and will be held the first & third Thursday of every month. $15 for non-members & $12 members.

Coast Elite Gymnastics

Our parent and child class is designed for children from 18 to 36 months, accompanied by a parent or guardian. This 45-minute class introduces gymnastics body positions, skills such as forward & backward rolls, and activities on the balance beam and uneven bars. The class begins with group stretching and typically includes an obstacle course with plenty of opportunities for climbing, rolling, and jumping, as well as rotations to at least two gymnastics events. The class may also include rhythm activities or parachute.

Musical Theater Class

This exciting class (ages 9 – 16) exposes beginning students and will enhance advanced students in musical theatre. Under the direction of Tony Saracino, students will focus on voice placement, intonation and breathing techniques to attain projection needed for stage. The class will also incorporate light movement and choreography which will enable them to perform effectively. Starts Jan. 11 and runs 10 weeks.

Southern Starz Gymnastics

Pre-School Fitness and Fun program is for ages 1-4. These classes teach basic gymnastic skills to enhance coordination. Gymnasts will use size appropriate balance beams, bars, and trampolines to achieve this goal. They offer two different age groups in the pre-school program, Mom and Me classes are designed for children 1 – 3 years so that the parent can be with them and offer guidance during the instruction. The final step is the 3-4 old year age group. This group will focus on gymnastic skills as well as body position & coordination.
