Alliance for the Arts

Come participate in the two-day mini art camp Jan. 4 and 5 and learn from Florida naturalist guest speakers, create theme focused art projects, play fun outdoor games, and more. Campers in grades 1st – 6th will spend the day in various workshop rotations, have plenty of outdoor break time, and get together for whole group games with before and aftercare available. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended care available before and after. Pack a lunch with an ice pack, water bottle, and snack to keep your camper energized for the full day of fun!  There is no refrigeration available.

Arts Bonita

Embrace your creative side and dive into the world of the arts during your winter break at Camp Arts Bonita. Classes are for ages 5-8 and 9-12. Each day your student will experience arts in a different way. Dive into themed dance days, unleash your inner costume designer, draw your favorite characters, master recycled art, explore painting techniques, and sculpt your imagination. Edison and Ford Winter Estates

School Break camps are designed for students in grades K-5 when school is out. Exploring Electricity Camp runs Dec. 27 – 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Campers explore Edison’s “living laboratory” while our educators, called “Wild Wizards,” teach topics in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math), history and the natural world. Campers will learn about the history of electricity with exciting demonstration and hands-on activities.  The physics of circuits is explored as campers work on designing their own electrical system.  Also, the Amazing Mechanics camp runs Jan. 2 – 5. Florida Repertory Theatre

Florida Rep Education is proud to offer a wide variety of performing arts classes for the community. These classes are designed for both beginners and serious young artists looking to continue to hone their craft. “The Director’s Toolbox” – A Beginning Director’s Workshop is for ages 13 – 18 and is held Monday nights for five weeks starting Jan. 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. “The Director’s Toolbox” is a workshop series for aspiring young directors ready to hone their “director’s eye.”  Students will come to class prepared with a 2-person scene to direct. Workshop participants will engage in the act of directing and also serve as audience members for their peers’ work. The workshop culminates with a performance during the final session when students present “A Night of Scenes” for friends and family to enjoy. It culminates in a performance on March 4.

Gulf Coast Symphony

MusicWorks! is an El-Sistema based program whose primary goal is to empower children to achieve their full potential through the study and performance of music. Students (grades 2-6) will learn an instrument from the string family (violin, viola, cello, bass), and perform as a string orchestra, and in smaller string ensembles. Students will receive daily instruction throughout the school year. Classes include individual and group string instruction, chorus, music theory, and music history. Students will be given multiple performance opportunities, including at Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall as part of a Gulf Coast Symphony concert. Classes meet Monday through Thursday, from 4 – 5:30 p.m. Instruments are provided for free in this program, and need-based scholarships are available. The next semester runs Jan. 16 through May 15.

The IMAG History & Science Center announces its Winter School Break Camps: Tuesday, December 26 through Friday, December 30, and Tuesday, January 2 through Friday, January 5.  IMAG STEAM Camps bring inspiration to life for campers through science, technology, engineering, art, and math with hands-on activities, explorations, events, and fun.  Also, IMAG is opening StingRay Bay, its new touch tank just in time for campers to discover the wonders of sea life.

Southern Starz Gymnastics

Join us this holiday season at Southern Starz from Dec. 26 through Jan 9.  Gymnastic camp for girls and adventure camp for boys is a great way to spend your days off school.  We open each day at 7:30 a.m. and camp runs until 3 p.m. with extended day until 6 p.m.  Campers will spend the day doing gymnastic, playing games and having fun.  Each day ends with open gym.  Daily and weekly rates available.

Join us at the Fort Myers YMCA and the Fort Myers YMCA for Winter Break Camp from Dec. 26 – Jan. 5 (no camp on Jan. 1). The camp starts at 6:30 am and runs until 6 pm. We have lots of fun activities planned including arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, holiday activities, special guests and more! Camp is for Kindergarten to 6th grade.
