Sheriff Carmine Marceno and Dr. Greg Adkins, from the Lee County School District, will speak with parents and guardians about school safety as they prepare for the upcoming school year. K-9 Kylo will be, on hand, participating in a K-9 demonstration. Bloodhound Maggie will be present to say hello! The event will include a bounce house, a photo booth, a bike rodeo and multiple giveaways. There will be face painting and lawn games for the kids! Sheriff Marceno and Deputy Chance are also calling out to Deputy Dogs members! Come out for this call to action! Wet Walks at the Slough

Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve is again hosting off the boardwalk strolls along the wet walk trail usually closed to the public. The invigorating, beautiful path is immersed in the watery heart of the Slough. Group size is limited to 16. All walks are at 10 a.m. and a
second walk at 1 p.m. We’ll be walking in fresh, clean rainwater, usually up to our waists.You will exit wet but not muddy, and we have a rinse off hose. Wet walk donations ($10 suggested) are used to sponsor summer camp scholarships, purchase educational supplies, fund student slough trips, and to support educational programs. You must be at least 10 years old to participate because of the possible water depth. Reservations required. 239-533-7557
