4th of July Freedom Fest

Thursday, July 4 • 6-10 p.m.

Festivities include, live entertainment (DJ Tom’s Tunes and Thunder Beach Band), food trucks and vendors, kids activities, rock wall, face painter, stilt walker and balloon artist will culminate with a spectacular fireworks show over the Caloosahatchee River. www.fortmyersriverdistrictalliance.com

Ft. Myers Beach Fireworks & Parade

Thursday, July 4 • 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m.

Festivities kick off with a 10 a.m. parade up Estero Boulevard. Then, 15 minutes after sunset, one of the region’s most spectacular fireworks shows shoots off from the Fort Myers Beach Fishing Pier. Times Square will have patriotic activities from noon to 2 p.m. Activities include patriotic crafts, a watermelon eating contest and a dunk tank. That’s the main event, but restaurants and others step up the festivities with music and activity in the Times Square & beach. 239-454-7500

Kids Patriot Park is open to all. The park will close at 9:15 p.m. as the fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. Ride tickets will be for sale at the event. The attractions in the park are: Mechanical Meltdown, Toxic Twist Obstacle Course, 27′ 2 Lane Slide, Basketball, 52′ Toxic Jump, 26 Ft. Rockwall. The Cape Coral Bridge and Cape Coral Parkway from Del Prado Blvd to the bridge, will be closing at 3 a.m. on July 4. www.capeboom.com

It’s the day of the Great Adventure Bay Race between Adventure Bay’s Mayor Goodway and Foggy Bottom’s Mayor Humdinger, but Mayor Goodway is nowhere to be found. PAW Patrol to the rescue! Ryder summons Marshall, Chase, Skye, Rubble, Rocky, Zuma and Everest to rescue Mayor Goodway and to run the race in her place. Using their unique skills and teamwork, the pups show that “no job is too big, no pup is too small,” and share lessons for all ages about citizenship, social skills and problem-solving as they make several heroic rescues on their race to the finish line. 239-481-4849
