The event entry will be FREE and will include interactive LEGO brick activities for all ages. Celebrating its 18th year, Free Comic Book Day is exactly what it’s name says: an annual event where we give away a selection of specially produced comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into our store, with no purchase required. FCBD has grown into a bigger and better event each year, and this year promises to be no exception. Comics Cards and Stuff, now in it’s new and improved location in the Edison Park 8 Plaza, is also planning to promote the event with a large sale, raffles, charity auction, costume contest and special giveaways – and lots more – along with appearances by several “super heroes”, several comic creators and other surprises! 239-939-0878

24th Annual Taste of the Beach

The 24th Annual Taste of the Beach will be held Sunday, May 5 on Old San Carlos Blvd. just down the street from Times Square. Food will be served 10 a.m. until it runs out or at 4 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and children over 12. Children under 12 are free. Food tickets will be $1 each, with a $5 average food serving price. Live music will be provided. 239-454-7500

Join the CFABS Youth Players as the delicious adventures of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory light up the stage in this captivating adaptation of Roald Dahl’s fantastical tale. Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka JR. follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka’s rules in the factory – or suffer the consequences. 239-495-8989

Jack and the Beanstalk
